So they had 1000 MW shortfall, meanwhile GE’s inland gas turbine plant (which can generate 750 MW)had the plug pulled on it by GE and they’re demolishing it because it was economically unfeasible, they couldn’t get into the grid because green subsidized power blew up their pricing model…. and we’re closing Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.

this is all been engineered consciously and with forethought by the green lobby in California, why is it San Francisco never loses their power?

Last night they took the power down at our place near Monterey. Botswana comes to mind when I think of a country or region that doesn’t maintain sufficient power supply.
I fully and 100% blame the democrats,

State did not forget to regulate the power production / distribution of energy out of production.

Alinsky Media brainwashed you. Our elections have been rigged, and our officials are traitors who the corrupt fbi, doj, ses, cia, ig, jttf, fisa, nsa won’t roll up to supermax. You must be working for them creating more low level intensity tension. You don’t live in California so don’t know what your talking about. They don’t answer their phones / email and they made it impossible to assemble/organize or get at them under this lockdown. This is a UN/Nato/Dyncorp takeover using MB/BLM/Antifa and your just cherring it on by blaming the victim. I don’t have time to downvote everyone with… Read more »

If you live in California and don’t generate your own power, you should expect this sort of thing every. Year. From now on. Get some solar panels and a battery that’ll last you for 24 hours. It’ll be worth the investment.

NOTE how the article tries to blame .. global warming instead of an incompetent string of DemoRat Gov’s for the issue. Kaly does produce lots of solar energy,,but not at the times it needs it and as a result.. The power grid crashes and the Dem’s still refuse to acknowledge that they can’t provide cheap and reliable power when heavy uses is required. Keep voting democrat folks. Remember when PG&E cut the power to entire regions of Kaly due to high winds. Because PG&E was blocked by the Gov and the enviro’s from clearing tree’s and bushes under power lines… Read more »

Yes, and I’ve also noticed major maintenance work on the power lines where I live. I’ve been in my condo 20+ yrs and NEVER seen any work or upkeep on the high tension power lines. My power co. is San Diego Gas & Electric. In fact, just up the road in San Juan Capistrano, SDGE is replacing two poles.

Funny thing. We are self sufficient with solar. We stay attached to the grid for night time. They recently raised our base charge for connecting to the grid. Why? They lost a lot of revenue because so many people have solar. Which then makes us ask - are they really running out of capacity?

Or do they want us all going to “cooling centers” so we can justify the “3rd wave”?

It is only available during the day.. NO wind No Sun/ NO POWER .. Simple math. The 2nd responsibility of government to provide cheap and reliable energy.. The first responsibility is to provide for the safety and security to the general population.. Kalyfornia FAILS on both counts. It is Venezuela and I don’t want to hear how Kaly is the 5th largest economy in the world. Thats rubbish,.It is collapsing into a Turd World state and now.. The idiots want a wealth tax and a surcharge on the so called rich because sooo many are fleeing the gross mismanagement and… Read more »

It is not the government’s job to provide energy. It is private industry’s job to build the infrastructure to generate and provide power. In most cases, government is in the way of the companies doing their job, via lengthy application process to approve the projects. Marxist inspired interest groups drag the companies into court delaying projects for years, if not canceling them. Costs for energy are increased via special taxes, and exorbitant fees. When governmental melding and special interests are removed, from the process good things happen. As an example, consider how fast we have a vaccine for the made… Read more »

It’s probably time for you to get a battery-backed system and take yourselves off the grid altogether. It’s not like they’re reliable anyway…

So we keep building more houses and strip malls but no new Dams or power generators.
What part of this do you not get, Your tech only consumes more power.
They worry about Green yet every building, street, and parking lot raises the ambient temperature of the ground and reduces the amount of water absorption into the ground.
There again talk about an oxymoron.

Don’t forget, the State Government, in it’s infinite wisdom, is taking OUT more dams which means less power and less stored water.

. . . exactly on dams . . . for fresh drinking water first, agriculture second, and power generation will flow from the two points above . . . yet instead a “bullet train” ( I believe even bullets are outlawed or regulated now ) was “championed” by the super majority, one party rule, liberal progressive totalitarian state of California . . . and all this from the “sixth largest economy in the world . . . ” ooohh haaaaa . . .

So the frickin green power / Green anything is proven once again to be a total scam. A state that can’t provide a reliable source of electrical power is nothing but a 3rd world country. Kaly fits the bill. Venezuela comes immediately to mind.. Uber leftist wealthy people with a huge lower class of impoverished people. The very definition of a socialist Marxist rat hole.. Yet, the kalys are eager , nay, running to vote for Biden and Kammie. You get what you voted for and please..do not flee and come here. They bring their voting habits with them and… Read more »

Put some panels on your house and a large battery in the garage and it won’t be a ‘scam’.
