Nevada wants to have unlimited number of parents on birth certificates

A bill in the Nevada state legislature would strike the term mother and father on birth certificates and authorize an unlimited number of adults to be listed.

“We need to contact the Senate Judiciary Members and urge them to oppose AB 115,” the Nevada Family Alliance, a program of Capitol Resource Institute,” said in a statement.

“The passing of this bill could bring complicated and dangerous implications for parents across Nevada.”

The bill was heard this week in the Senate Judiciary Committee. It already passed in the Assembly, where it was sponsored by Assemblywoman Cecelia González (see image), a Democrat.

The Pacific Justice Institute, a legal defense organization specializing in the defense of religious freedom and parental rights, opposes the proposed legislation:

“What this Bill does is radically re-define the parent-child relationship to ask the courts to allow a group of adults (three or more) to have a legally recognized parent-child relationship,” the Sacramento-based institute wrote in submitted testimony.

“This expanded definition is not in the best interest of the child. The Bill offers no functional
framework in which a court is to apply this expanded definition.”

Wow, all I can say is wow. I think that the best we can do now is take this to its logical conclusion. Not list mother or father, and list family pets for the supportive role they played in creating the child. Of course, you also want to list the Democratic National Committee for their policies encouraging Flexi-children. Ultimately, you want to remove the child’s name from the birth certificate in the interest of security. The child’s name is, after all, personally Identifiable information and cannot be released without the child’s permission. Ask them when they turn 16. The result… Read more »

This is another attempt, by the left, to reduce the significance of the traditional family and disconnect children from their parents. The government will take over the responsibility and children will be only dependent on it.

I disagree on this point, Bruce, it is not the left that seeks to ruin family relationships but their master, Satan. The left are simply dancing to his tune.

Great. Just think of how beneficial this will be for the confused child. When it comes to children, liberals always seem to look at things from their own selfish perspective, never what is best for the child. They always use children to push their lgbt agenda, their sexual perversion agenda by teaching 8 year olds explicit and perverted sexual practices by way of educational curriculum. Meanwhile overall student performance continues to suffer as America continues to drop in the global educational rankings.

From a tax return perspective, can each parent then use the child as a deduction on their federal tax return or is it proportional. Also, the cost of raising a child properly, can easily cost over a half million. Is each parent on the birth certificate now financially responsible? This is going to be fun.

It’s obviously a ploy to allow more illegal aliens to have a child in the US.

Hillary Clinton thought up that line and used it as a title for her book. She wanted a particular destructive result for America, i.e., A communist Hive of dirt poor worker bees with Government workers and politicians living high off the labor of deplorable (and contemptible ) worker bees like you and me. Hillary Clinton deserves to be behind bars for life.

Ok, how will they handle claiming a child as a dependent on Fed Tax? Can ALL parents claim the child?/
Whose insurance will cover the kid?
Whose income will qualify for financial assistance in college?
Which adult pays child support is they all divorce?
does the tax payers cover all costs???

Nevada used to be a conservative stronghold. Then the first wave of fleeing Californians moved to Las Vegas or Reno…
California really is cancer.
