When I showed my QR code on my phone they didn’t have a scanner or even know what it was. Go Go governor Newscum. The disconnect between front line employees and upper mngt is vast.

You can’t do license photos online. Gotta’ be there. That said, She probably and very simply did make an appointment online, and that’s why she was skipping the queue. The California DMV lets you do that, and it’s a smart use of your time. (You can also do a lot of the DMV stuff - renewals, transfers, extensions, etc. - that might require a face-to-face at the California Auto Club/AAA BTW, and in much more pleasant surroundings.)
