Taking bets on whether he’ll be effective once in office or turn out to be just another pawn.

Larry isn’t a registered republican, his accomplishments are a radio host, film director, non practicing attorney, author.. I tried to find one accomplishment in California there is none. By the looks of social media sites this is the pick…..Good luck California you’ll need it. Kevin Kiley would have been a good governor instead you have a name…who loves fame….

It would be refreshing to have Californians vote on capability rather than glitz but “It’s the cheese” as the CA commercial went. IMO Kiley would make a good governor, the state legislators could not get anything past him, he is on to their tricks.

OK. His lawyers are sharper than I expected. A good technical ruling for those creepy Dems who keep on adding to and enlarging laws by themselves. I think Elder is going to be the contender because of name recognition and now add a sympathy (Rocky) vote but I still think Kiley is a better choice.

Many people do not understand that the recall ballot is two parts: (1) remove Newsom, and (2) select replacement (applicable if Newsom is removed). The key is everyone must kick Newsom out and then vote for whoever they want and let the chips fall where they may.

So the tax return didn’t even apply in this case if it needs to be at all.. and Greasy Gavin still hasn’t ponied up his tax return all the while they tried to rig the vote by bumping this guy.. They are very afraid of him.. In fact, this is worth more than all the PR Larry could have bought as it makes him the underdog against a revealed big bully.. This actually worked out very well. You can’t buy this much good PR.. Everyone knows now what they are going to do.

Unreal. I hope he nails them on this just on principle alone. They obviously fear him for some reason.

“…for some reason”? Elder is a good man and I’m glad he’ll be on the ballot, but you know the answer to your implied question, don’t you.

What a unionized communist disloyal government of traitors! The criminal traitor party of no rights and scum preaches equality but can’t walk the walk when it comes to our rights, including Larry’s! When we see guys like Donald and Larry smeared, denied justice, rights violated and abused we think of ourselves! That’s why we identify with Trump and Elder—–they are us and we are them!

Why,… that would racist and against everything the Crats say about racist whites.. But the fact remains they are the party of the slave owners, the KKK, Jim Crow laws and the longest filibuster in US history with the southern democrats using the filibuster for 30 days to try to stop Civil & Voting rights for black Americans and other racist laws right up to 1970 +
This doesn’t surprise me. It harkens straight back to the 1830’s on up. It’s their heritage.

Sorry to be out of touch, but prior to his run for gov. I never heard of Larry Elder. Should I know of him?
And what qualifies him as the best candidate, over someone like Kevin Kiley?

See his bio for the basics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LarryElder This is my own opinion of some of the “intangibles” that have resonated with the public who see him as an exciting candidate for CA Gov.: Apart from being a native Californian who has a background of growing up in South Central L.A. and who, like many people, was determined to make something of himself and succeed, I think he is perceived and admired by most as someone with common-sense conservative ideas and values who never gives up and has never backed down from a fight. He is known as earnest and honest.… Read more »

He is a talk show host and public affairs speaker. He is a smart guy and certainly charismatic but IMO if he got elected he would not be able to accomplish much because he would be cut off at the knees by experienced CA pols, as happened to Trump,9but worse) and he is also not experienced at running a large organization. You can see that they are doing it already. His main weight in the election is that he has name appeal.

I didn’t know that experience in running a large organization was such a be-all, end-all litmus test. I guess that would make Gov. Gruesome a much better candidate.

It’s true Arnold couldn’t accomplish anything either and was led around by the nose but that was because he had no center and no backbone either, as you’ve seen in the years since. Absolutely outrageous that he is responsible for AB32. People should still be screaming at him on the street for that one. Agh!

It’s not simply character but also how much studying has been done. Trump and apparently Reagan studied issues for years before entering politics. Their internal platforms were building for a long time. You can’t just ride into high office on celebrity alone and expect results.

He’s not an entertainer or celebrity, per se, on the radio or otherwise. I would say fame FOLLOWED function. All Larry Elder has done for the past (at least) 30 years is study issues and talk about policy so he definitely has constructed a platform to run on. By the way, I haven’t decided whether or not I would vote for him but I’m glad he is in the race. I want as many voters as possible to be voting for YES on RECALL. That’s the most important part; without that we don’t have ANYBODY we would like for Gov.

And oh — Elder is an attorney, by the way. That helps, if you’re a decent one, that is.

I’ve mentioned Ahnold in other posts. I knew things were bad back then but I really had no idea how bad they were in multiple dimensions. Now it’s worse. The CA govt is largely corrupted and both inside and outside pressure are needed. IMO Kiley is the best for the job as Grant was during the Civil War. I don’t think Elder has the desire or the strategic capacity to do it.

So let’s just lay down and take it up the butt with a rino or another democrat? Even cut off at the knees, Trump accomplished more than the previous five presidents. Name appeal is not his main weight in the election, INTELLIGENCE is.
